Has built more structures without a permit than anyone in the province, and has defended every one of them.
Castor founded the firm after a three-year dispute over a dam he had built, entirely by hand, across a creek a developer wanted to straighten. He won, kept the dam, and discovered he liked the paperwork almost as much as the timber.
He leads our water rights and construction practice, and still reviews every lodge contract himself. His notes are short, and usually say “load-bearing?”
